On Strolls and Stories Tours we will see several works by Tucsonan Artist Charles Clement! Clement focused on abstract sculptural art often depicting flora and fauna and animal abstracts. Considered a muralist and part of the modern art movement of the mid century era, his art is primarily three-dimensional architectural art. There are several examples of his works downtown and much more sprinkled on mid century buildings throughout Tucson! Clement was born in New York City in 1921. He and his wife moved to Tucson in 1950 and they opened a studio in the Tucson Mountains on the west side of town in 1952. He passed away in 1981. To create his architectural sculptures, the muralist incorporated ceramics, metal works and mosaics. Learn more about Tucson's own Charles Clement on a guided walking tour with Strolls and Stories Tours!
